SAFA – Partnership Development

Matchmaking

To accelerate the adoption of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), the SAF Association (SAFA) provides partnership development and matchmaking services that connect key stakeholders across the value chain. These services help airlines, fuel producers, feedstock suppliers, investors, technology providers, and policymakers identify strategic collaborators, explore joint ventures, and unlock new business opportunities.

Through curated introductions, sector-specific networking, and facilitated discussions, SAFA ensures that partnerships are aligned, high-impact, and actionable, enabling faster SAF deployment and fostering a robust ecosystem for sustainable aviation. By bridging gaps between supply, demand, technology, and investment, these matchmaking services play a critical role in driving collaboration, innovation, and scalable SAF solutions in India and beyond.

Book & Claim

As the aviation industry races toward net-zero, SAF adoption remains a critical pillar of decarbonization. However, due to limited geographic availability, logistical constraints, and early-stage production, direct physical delivery of SAF is not always feasible. To overcome these barriers, the Book and Claim system offers a globally recognized, scalable solution — and SAFA is at the forefront of enabling this in India.

What is Book and Claim?

Book and Claim is a chain-of-custody model that allows the environmental benefits of SAF to be separated from its physical delivery. In this system:

A SAF producer supplies SAF to the fuel system at a specific location (the "book").

An airline or customer purchases the emission reduction attributes or credits (the "claim") — even if they are not physically using the SAF.

This allows airlines and corporate flyers to claim Scope 3 emission reductions while supporting SAF production, regardless of where the fuel is physically used.

What is Book and Claim?

  • Decouples SAF demand from location constraints
  • Accelerates market demand and producer financing
  • Supports early adopters in Scope 3 reporting
  • Encourages investment in SAF production capacity
  • Enables inclusive participation by corporates, even if SAF isn’t available at their airport

Partner With SAFA:

If you're an airline, corporate travel buyer, SAF producer, or sustainability leader — partner with SAFA to leverage the power of Book and Claim. Help drive demand for clean aviation fuel, support Indian SAF producers, and meet your net-zero goals with integrity and transparency.

Joining Hands with SAFA

Building India’s SAF Ecosystem through Collaborative Partnerships

At the SAF Association (SAFA), collaboration lies at the heart of our mission. To accelerate the adoption, production, and policy integration of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) in India, we are forging strategic partnerships through formal Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with key stakeholders across the entire SAF value chain.

These MoUs serve as a foundation for joint action, shared expertise, and co-development of solutions aimed at achieving India’s aviation decarbonization and net-zero goals.

What is Book and Claim?

  • 1. Government & Regulatory Bodies
  • 2. Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) & Refiners
  • 3. Airlines & Airport Operators
  • 4. SAF Producers & Technology Providers
  • 5. Research Institutions & Academia
  • 6. Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) & Rural Networks
  • 7. Multilateral Organizations & Global Alliances

These partnerships are more than formal agreements — they represent a shared commitment to action. Each MoU helps unlock new capabilities, scale pilot projects, build infrastructure, and fast-track policy reforms.

If your organization is working toward a cleaner, greener aviation future — we invite you to collaborate with us. Whether you're from government, industry, academia, or civil society, SAFA is open to MoUs that can help shape India’s SAF leadership.
